about

Growing up in a rural area, we had nearly an acre of land; which sloped uphill. As a kid, I remember one spring day climbing up into an apple tree and found the perfect place to sit: a hiding place, my own private clubhouse, my own spaceship.

There, high above it all, the fullness of blossoms, the wind blowing - it was magical.

That experience has stayed with me throughout my life.

The second verse reflects again on the natural process of aging and how memory is deceitful.

The photo is of Summersville Lake, WV.
WV Author Richard Hartman wrote the last line of verse one.

lyrics

Every Time

Summer evening and autumn is on the breeze
The stars assemble, slowly fall down through the trees.
Nature proves her true majesty.

One time, this time, every time.

Recollections, reflections folding back in time
And sweep away the dust from my (ever) fading mind.
Alas, I laugh for memory is blind.

One time, this time, every time.

Lavender and laurel permeate the wind.
My heart accelerates and waits for the magic to begin.
Sun streaks edge the sky and trail back again.

One time, this time, every time.
