Another Lonely Night

Another Lonely Night
There are no promises to this life
And I ask for none.
All that I'm willing to try
Seems to come undone.
And I can take the cold winds that you bring me.
And I can take the cold stares that you give me.
Lay to waste remembrance now completely
And I will face another lonely night.
A slow embrace, another lonely night.
Waling in silence alone,
You come into mind.
Remembering all that we said,
"We just don't have the time."
And I'll forsake emotions that come to me.
Turn to face the shadows that pursue me.
Put to blame the foolishness that was me
And I will taste another lonely night.
A slow embrace another lonely night.

Coming 'Round Again

Coming 'Round Again
I've been swimming in the dark, dark river.
I've been listening to the voice down below.
I've been buried in this fear of failure,
But now I'm rising to the surface of my soul.
I've been pacing in the cell of my own prison
That I built with mortar and stone.
I've been taking the advice of restless demons
Who come to me at night alone.
But hey, I'm coming back from the dead.
Hey, I'm coming 'round again.
Hey, I'm alive in every moment
And I'm trying to be a better man.
In the war, we fight in the trenches.
Someone always tries to walk on you.
And the ants are fighting for the same ant hill
When a mountain is in view.
And I've been walking through the scenes in The Waste Land.
I hear the singing of the bones
And every hollow face that has a blank expression.
Happiness is always so far from home.
But hey, I'm coming back from the dead.
Hey, I'm coming 'round again.
Hey, I'm alive in every moment
And I'm trying to be a better man.

A Child's Verse for Crow

A Child's Verse for Crow
Crow flew high
and crow flew low
And crow came down
On drifted snow.
To stay awhile
To laugh and sing.
Won't you take me under your wings?
Now I lay me
Down to sleep.
I pray the lord
My soul to keep.
To stay awhile
To laugh and sing.
Won't you take me under your wings?

Jim Lange West Virginia
I've have been playing, performing and composing for more years than I can recall. My music reflects a variety of influences; not the least of which is the natural beauty of West Virginia.
